In need of a session devoted to deep rest?

We got you.

On the last Friday of every month we host an evening of Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Sound Healing.

A truly nourishing experience.

So, what does it involve?

Yin yoga is a slow, meditative practice. It involves long pose holds in restorative positions, supported by props. You'll find what we call a "comfortable edge" so that you can sustain the position comfortably for a few minutes, while still finding a release in the stretch, targeting the deeper connective tissues that we don't usually have time to access. This is beneficial for our bodies, but it's also beneficial for our minds. Finding stillness in these poses is a challenge that we can overcome, and in turn, we can start training ourselves to find stillness in the mind.

Yoga nidra is a state between being awake, and asleep, it's known as a "yogic sleep". To the untrained eye it can look like a simple savasana relaxation, but it's much more than that. Using guided meditative techniques to scan the body, you can unlock a state of stillness in the body and the mind, and all you have to do is wrap up in a blanket and listen!

Sound healing is the perfect way to conclude these stillness practices. You'll continue to lay in a comfortable, warm, relaxed position, open to receive the sounds of our beautiful instruments. Sound healing has many benefits, the main one being that the sounds can continue your yogic sleep which is wonderfully relaxing for your mind. You may also feel the vibrations of the sounds within your body and perhaps the shift of stagnant energy. We've got a wide selection of instruments for you to enjoy, crystal bowls and pyramids, tibetan bowls, chimes and gongs. The sounds will nourish your body and mind, and that release will set you up for a deep sleep once you get home.

If this sounds like it's for you, our next session is on Friday 29th April at 7.30pm.
